
Dr. Esrailian is the Section Head for General Gastroenterology in the Division of Digestive Diseases Center at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, and he is the Co-Director of the UCLA/VA Center for Outcomes Research and Education. In addition, Dr. Esrailian collaborates with other members as the Principal Survey Design Specialist for UCLA/VA CORE. He attended the University of California at Berkeley and graduated with a major in Integrative Biology and a minor in English. He subsequently graduated from the Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Southern California. He was named intern, junior resident, and senior resident of the year during all three years of his residency training. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA where he also obtained a Masters of Public Health degree with the assistance of an NIH sponsored training grant. Dr. Esrailian's primary clinical and research interests include diagnostic decision-making and health economic analysis in gastrointestinal endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal hemorrhage, and functional gastrointestinal diseases.
