
Dr. Solomon is the Principal Health Economist for the UCLA/VA Center for Outcomes Research and Education. He is a practicing internist and is currently a fellow in cardiovascular medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Solomon attended Stanford University, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's degree in Sociology, where he studied changes in health care financing and organization. Subsequently, he was a fellow in the Medical Scientist Training Program (M.D./Ph.D. Program) at the UCLA School of Medicine, where he obtained his medical training and completed his Ph.D. in Policy Analysis at the RAND Graduate School, where he studied health economics. He wrote his dissertation on the economics of prescription drug utilization. His research interests span many areas of health economics, and he has experience conducting econometric analyses, stochastic simulation modeling, survival analyses, cost-effectiveness analyses, and survey development and implementation. Dr. Solomon has published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), Health Services Research, Archives of Internal Medicine, Journal of General Internal Medicine, and the American Journal of Managed Care.
